In terms of modern and contemporary art architecture and culture in general, Brussels is obviously already a city of many assets. It is home to a large number of institutions dedicated to a huge range of artistic disciplines. The missing pieces in this magnificent jigsaw are a museum of modern and contemporary art and a museum of architecture.
That it is why the project KANAL Centre Pompidou was created. It is situated in the 35.000 sqm of the former Citroën garage at Yser square. Before the start of the huge building transformations, and the final opening in 2022/2023, the Kanal Foundation has decided to launch, on May 5th 2018, a year of cultural prefiguration. During 13 months, in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou, the public will be able to discover this mythical building through different exhibitions, huge installations, 10 original artwork of artists of Brussels and live performances.
