As authoritarian politics gain ground across Europe and beyond, contemporary fascism crystallises around a promise to expel the bodies it deems a threat. With Figures of Fascism and Antifascist Solidarities, dramaturg and theorist Bojana Cvejić convenes the third chapter of a multi-year research exploring how art and culture confront these urgent political realities. What can antifascism be today? And how do artistic practices build forms of solidarity across difference?
Bringing together activists, artists, community organisers and thinkers through talks, film and performance, the gathering invites participants to identify interconnected struggles against fascism while imagining collective forms of resistance. This final edition focuses on everyday experiences of fascism and the bodies and communities it most directly targets, including queer, trans, racialised and disabled people.
The gathering creates an expanded space of study and reflection from which to understand the present – and act within it together.
