MedexMuseum (Ephemeral Museum of Exile)

Ten years after its birth during the Museum Night Fever, the Ephemeral Museum of Exile (MedexMuseum) has set up in the Matonge district, in Ixelles. Its exhibitions focus on exile, migrations and multiculturalism.

MedexMuseum is a museum like no other, exploring the human and shared dimensions of migration, pieces of our respective histories and cultural heritages that we want to tell to others, so that we can better know and understand each other.

Exhibitions, cultural events, convivial moments and artistic workshops form a program designed out in co-creation with people who wish to talk about their form of exile.

Since 2014, MedexMuseum has sought to reinvent the role of the museum, transforming it into a place of encounter and exchange, a space for artistic and cultural creation and expression around Brussels’ cultural diversity.
