For over 40 years, STIJL has been setting the standard for contemporary fashion, making it a true institution in Belgium and Brussels. Through her insightful and visionary selection, STIJL’s founder Sonja Noël has left her mark on several generations of designers and customers.
Together with her daughter and fashion journalist Aya Noël, Sonja will be talking about the process of putting together the 40 + years of STIJL exhibition. During the conversation, mother and daughter will examine the similarities and differences between curating an exhibition and defining the identity of a store. By going over the selection criteria for the pieces on display, their mode of presentation and the construction of the visual narrative, the aesthetic choices structuring the exhibition will be outlined Discover over 40 years of Sonja’s distinctive vision, defined by her innovative and authentic choice of designers, silhouettes and materials.
This unique edition of Fashion Lesson is brought to you by the Fashion & Lace Museum in partnership with MAD-Home of Creators, in the framework of the 40+ years of STIJL exhibition.
