‘As a young singer, I learned so much about how to carry oneself, how to watch and learn.’

Having begun her international career as a specialist in the so-called mezzo-soprano ‘trouser roles’, such as Cherubino and Idamante in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and Idomeneo, re di Creta, Jennifer Holloway successfully turned her hand to more dramatic soprano roles, including acclaimed performances as Kundry in Wagner’s Parsifal at the Wiener Staatsoper and in the title role of Richard Strauss’s Salome. This autumn, in addition to making her role and house debut at La Monnaie as Marie in Berg’s Wozzeck, she will lead a public masterclass on vocal technique and expressivity featuring soprano Margo Jacquart (MM Soloist), mezzo-soprano Blandine Coulon (MM Laureate), soprano Eden Salamon-Signarbieux (Choral Academy) and soprano Marion Bauwens (MM Laureate), all accompanied on the piano by Peter Jeurissen.

The programme features must-hear opera hits such as ‘Non so più cosa sono, cosa faccio’ from Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and ‘Caro nome che il mio cor’ from Verdi’s Rigoletto, as well as lesser-known gems from the repertoire such as Marguerite’s aria from Gounod’s Faust and Mařenka’s aria from Smetana’s The Bartered Bride.
