Film as told by Johan Grimonprez

Inaugurating Film as told by, filmmaker Johan Grimonprez presents Every Day Words Disappear, a lecture-cine-performance exploring how new stories about the origins of the world might help imagine different ways of belonging together in a bankrupt world marked by genocide and species extinction. Following his Oscar-nominated Soundtrack to a Coup d’État (2024), which exposes colonial strategies of divide and rule, Grimonprez turns to interspecies coexistence. Rather than imagining a future paralysed by dystopian nihilism, he seeks joyful ways to tell untold stories of togetherness among shipwrecked travellers inhabiting this fragile spaceship called Earth.
