An exhibition with an installation by Romain Tardy and a soundscape by Coline Cornélis

Back on Senne reveals the hidden river beneath the Sewer Museum! The project consists of a temporary exhibition that transforms the permanent collection, featuring a new creation: an installation in collaboration with artists Romain Tardy and Coline Cornélis. Back on Senne presents the river as a living entity — the memory of a vanished landscape with great regenerative potential. The museum invites you to imagine a future for this river, in response to current challenges.

History, art and science merge to make the almost fully covered river tangible. Through projections, spatial sound and laser beams, visitors experience a sensory landscape of moving light, tones and water movement. Live data from the Flowbru network shapes the installation, making each visit unique and highlighting the river’s constantly evolving nature. The artwork conveys the pulse” of the Senne. Back on Senne prompts reflection on our relationship with this forgotten urban stream and on the challenges of ecological restoration.

The Senne is alive! Dive into its hidden story in Back on Senne.

As part of Back on Senne, many activities will also take place, such as workshops, guided walks and more. More information will be available soon!
