Autoworld 40 Years – Looking back to the future

From 11 September to 13 December, Autoworld will bring back to the museum the crème de la crème of more than 100 temporary exhibitions. The exhibition will feature cars and motorcycles that have appeared in one of Autoworld’s many past exhibitions and that each have a special link with the history of the museum.

From 11 September to 13 December, Autoworld will bring back to the museum the crème de la crème of more than 100 temporary exhibitions. The exhibition will feature cars and motorcycles that have appeared in one of Autoworld’s many past exhibitions and that each have a special link with the history of the museum.

‘Autoworld 40 Years – Looking back to the future’ will not be a classic retrospective, but an eclectic and surprising look back at 40 years of Autoworld. Visitors will discover vehicles ranging from pre-war models to modern supercars, including the Bugatti Type 35, the Lamborghini Miura, the rare Muntz Jet, the unique Toyota 2000GT Targa from James Bond, the ​“flying” Citroën DS and the Porsche 918.

The latter is coming at the request of the public. In July, Autoworld asked visitors which cars they would like to see again at the museum. The answers were enthusiastic and remarkably diverse, but one thing became clear once again: supercars remain extremely popular. The Porsche 918 clearly stood out as the most requested car. We are therefore delighted to announce its presence.

Each vehicle will be linked to the exhibition in which it was once displayed. The exhibition will also include a wall presenting an overview of all the exhibitions Autoworld has organised over the years. A short video will summarise 40 years of Autoworld through images, moments and memories from the museum’s history.
