ANTE Festival 2025 : Old Schaerbeek Train Station [Train World]

During the ANTE Festival 2025, come and discover the Old Schaerbeek Train Station!

The old Schaerbeek station building – now the entrance to Train World – is one of the most impressive examples of railway architecture from the late 19^th/​early 20^th century in the Brussels region. With its imposing horseshoe-shaped window and spherical turret roof that resembles a diver’s helmet, the station evokes the universe of Jules Verne. The construction took place in two phases: the first, in 1887, with its neo-Baroque tower harmoniously complements the nearby town hall. About thirty years later, architect F. Seulen designed the more expressive extension on the right. The two buildings were protected in 1994 along with the luggage depot and the platform canopies.

During the guided tour, visitors will learn all about the impressive interior of the station, with its well-preserved first-class ticket hall, the former station buffet and the monumental waiting room with its huge metal trusses, neo-Renaissance ticket counters and colourful tiles.

The ANTE tour ticket also grants access to the Train World museum.
