A powerful mother – daughter dialogue between Zap Mama and K.ZIA, blending voices, bodies and cultures into a bold, contemporary stage experience

Zap Mama

Zap Mama (Marie Daulne) is a pioneering icon of Afro-pop whose visionary fusion of pan-African rhythms, hypnotic vocal harmonies and universal themes helped shape the 1990s. A Grammy-nominated artist, her career spans collaborations with Erykah Badu, Common, The Roots, Sergio Mendes, as well as will.i.am, Vincent Cassel, Kery James and Hans Zimmer. Her work also extends to cinema and television, with music featured in films by Mathieu Kassovitz and Disney productions, and in 2025 she appeared on the Oscars red carpet as a nominee for her vocal performance in Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat. A timeless artist always ahead of her time, Zap Mama’s influence transcends generations and borders.

K.ZIA

K.ZIA (Kezia Quental) embodies Neo-Soul and Afro-R&B for a hyperconnected yet emotionally isolated generation. As an artistic director, singer, and actress, her work explores love and loss, empowerment and community. With over 9 million streams and 200,000 monthly listeners, alongside being added to the COLORS-playlist and coverage in Rolling Stone, ELLE, and Vogue, K.ZIA is a leading voice shaping global pan-African music culture. A multidisciplinary creator, she has collaborated with premier international brands and platforms such as Disney, HBO, and Bacardi, and continues to perform across Europe, the UK, and Africa.
