Zap Mama
Zap Mama (Marie Daulne) is a pioneering icon of Afro-pop whose visionary fusion of pan-African rhythms, hypnotic vocal harmonies and universal themes helped shape the 1990s. A Grammy-nominated artist, her career spans collaborations with Erykah Badu, Common, The Roots, Sergio Mendes, as well as will.i.am, Vincent Cassel, Kery James and Hans Zimmer. Her work also extends to cinema and television, with music featured in films by Mathieu Kassovitz and Disney productions, and in 2025 she appeared on the Oscars red carpet as a nominee for her vocal performance in Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat.
