County of Jette Communal Museum

A collection of paintings, photographs, old documents and excavations from the area around Jette.

The communal museum of the county of Jette is located in the abbey of Dielegem. Visitors are invited to discover the relics dating back to Ancient Rome, that were excavated in 1968. Memories of the monks’activities and folkloristic elements are part of the tour. The local history of the county, with its churches and farms, is described, but the defining element of this museum is the extensive library about regional history. The collection, which increases on a regular basis through exchanges with other associations, is managed by the historical society of Jette. Visitors are able to consult the collection on the spot for schoolwork, professional means or personal interest.
