Born in Araraquara, in the countryside of São Paulo, singer and songwriter Liniker has been drawn to the arts since childhood. She grew up watching her mother and uncles gather for samba rock sessions, planting the seed for her artistic journey. She later studied at Escola Livre de Teatro in Santo André, an experience that played a key role in shaping her artistic identity.
Liniker first gained recognition in 2015 with the release of the EP Cru, shared online under the name Liniker e os Caramelows. Since then, she has toured extensively across Brazil and internationally, releasing the albums Remonta (2016) and Goela Abaixo (2019), the latter earning a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Rock or Alternative Music Album in Portuguese. She also starred as Cassandra in the Amazon Prime Video series Manhãs de Setembro (2021), a performance that led Glamour magazine to name her a game-changer in the Actress category of its Geração Glamour awards.
That same year, Liniker released her first solo album, Indigo Borboleta Anil, featuring collaborations with Milton Nascimento, Tássia Reis, DJ Nyack, Tulipa Ruiz, Orquestra Jazz Sinfônica, Letieres Leite, and Orkestra Rumpilezz. The album earned three Latin Grammy nominations in 2022 and won the award for Best Portuguese Language Popular Music Album, making Liniker the most-nominated Brazilian artist that year and the first transgender artist to ever win a Latin Grammy.
