Ibeyi, a duo formed by twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz, French-Cuban artists who have made their mark on the music scene since 2015 with a distinctive style blending indie R&B, pop, and hip-hop influences. They were first discovered through their self-titled debut album released on XL Recordings, immediately asserting a strong aesthetic: stripped-down production, soulful vocals, interwoven vocal textures, and a subtle connection to their roots, notably through the use of the Yoruba language.
Their second album, Ash (2017), further broadened their sonic and political range, combining electronic elements with urban rhythms. In 2022, Spell 31 confirmed their ability to create introspective music that is resolutely contemporary, both intimate and universal.
Today, they are putting the finishing touches on their fourth album, currently being created between Paris, London, New York, and Los Angeles. Ibeyi is also known for their magnetic stage presence, their evident bond, and a unique way of echoing the past in a deeply modern language. On stage, they invite us into an immersive experience — powerful and delicate at once.
