On 26 April, it’s time again for (the flemish) Heritage Day, the perfect moment to discover Brussels’ tangible and intangible heritage.
This year’s theme? HAHA Humour — inviting you to explore the many faces of humour, from centuries‑old satire to contemporary memes.
No fewer than 8 Brussels museums are taking part:
- Argos centre for audiovisual arts: participatory workshop creating a fantastic collective mural
- Belgian Chocolate Village: screenings of comedy films in the Brussels dialect
- Belgian Museum of Freemasonry: Le Frondeur exhibition on 19th‑century satirical prints
- BELvue Museum: mime performance and live caricature portraits
- Brussels City Museum – the King’s House & GardeRobe MannekenPis: guided tour on Manneken-Pis as the city’s satirical spokesperson
- CINEMATEK: Comedyking workshop on slapstick and film clowns
- Erasmus House & the Béguinage of Anderlecht: guided tour of Olé Désiré with theatrical ceramics
- KBR museum: open workshop creating medieval‑style memes + lecture on humour in early modern Europe
All activities are free of charge, though some require prior booking.
