Flowdan, the groundbreaking British MC and Grammy winner, stands as an iconic figure in British urban music. Over two decades, this East London artist has become one of the most distinctive and esteemed voices in electronic music, earning cult status.
His rise began with the garage collective Pay As U Go, before co-founding grime pioneers Roll Deep. In 2007, Flowdan made a major impact with his appearance on ‘Skeng’ by The Bug, a digi-dancehall anthem released on Hyperdub. He continued collaborating with artists like The Bug and DVA, while also reviving his solo career with acclaimed tracks like ‘Say Nothin’ (with Jubei) and ‘Badman City’ (with Kahn).
Known for fusing ragga with dubstep and dark bass-driven soundscapes, Flowdan’s powerful voice and live performances have taken him around the world. With releases on top labels and two albums on Tru Thoughts, he launched his own Spentshell brand to support rising talent in grime and dancehall.
In early 2023, Flowdan dropped the explosive global hit ‘Rumble’ with Skrillex & Fred again.., followed by the gold-certified ‘Baddadan’ with Chase & Status, Bou, and others. That same year, he performed ‘Rumble’ live to millions at the ‘Battle of the Baddest’ in Riyadh, alongside Lil Baby.
