What if, for one evening, you put on a crown?
To celebrate Purim and International Women’s Day on March 8, the Jewish Museum of Belgium invites you to CROWNED!, a festive, creative, and immersive Purim ball.
Inspired by the figures of Purim (Esther, Vashti, and all the quiet heroines), this evening celebrates the many ways of existing, asserting oneself, refusing, or revealing oneself. Through costumes, masks, dance, and storytelling, the figure of the queen takes on multiple forms: visible or invisible, flamboyant or silent, crowned or not.
Purim is a celebration of joy, transformation, and playing with appearances. Here, the carnival becomes a space of freedom, creation, and sharing — where symbols are exaggerated, roles are reversed, and we celebrate together.
Dress code: Queens · anti-queens · hidden heroines (Dare to wear the crown, subvert it, or reinvent it.)
