From the British seaside as seen through Martin Parr’s lens to the communities defending their ancestral lands in Latin America in Nuestra Tierra — Lucrecia Martel’s first documentary and one of Belgium’s standout releases — each work offers a singular way of engaging with the world. The journey continues through the richly imaginative worlds of Hayao Miyazaki and into Peter Hujar’s Day, Ira Sachs’s new film and another seasonal highlight, which centres on the celebrated American photographer.
Through the eyes of artists and filmmakers, the programme explores the connections between memory, territory, image, and identity, inviting audiences to discover stories that shift their perspective.
