Théotime Langlois de Swarte is not yet 30, but already one of the greatest baroque violinists. This passionate young man, who is equally at home with 17th-century music as he is with contemporary music, has performed at Bozar before. The first time was with Justin Taylor and Le Consort and the second time with Thomas Dunford, with whom he set the Protestant Chapel ablaze last season. So now it’s time for our great hall! That’s what Théotime does with his most recent album exploring the connection between Vivaldi and two of his most brilliant, younger contemporaries, Locatelli and Leclair. Be surprised by seemingly effortless playing and a refreshingly pure performance of these 17th-century gems.
