The Vessel” is also a performance” born of the presence of sculptures, objects, masks and puppets. Impromptu encounters with puppets and music by Jean-Jacques Duerinckx. 2 exceptional happenings, on Sunday 19 at 7pm and Monday 20 May at 6pm.

On Sunday 19 and Monday 20, the works in The Vessel’ exhibition will literally come to life in two site-specific, largely improvised performances. Matt Jackson will be working with performance artist Ruben
Mardulier and musician Jean-Jacques Duerinckx, and together they will allow the objects and the atmosphere to determine the stories they tell.
and atmosphere to determine the stories they wish to share. A sleeping puppet
can suddenly wake up as a floating mask appears from hidden corners…
Inspiration for the performance work comes from physical theatre, butoh dance and mask and puppet theatre.
