A simple string that stretches and stretches until it creates shapes in the hands of a manipulator, or is it an illusionist? A child’s game? It’s also the story of a hand that wants to escape and fly away, to discover the universe and the thousands of worlds we don’t know about. Premiere in Belgium and Europe. Wordless show. FOCUS KOREA JEM festival 2024.

A simple string that stretches and stretches until it creates shapes in the hands of a manipulator, or is it an illusionist? Child’s play? The threads create triangular and pyramidal shapes in this multiplication, each time trying to get out of the labyrinth and the shapes that the fingers and cords create before our eyes. It’s a theatre of mimes, clowns, objects or cords, or better still, of threads that are repeated over and over again to weave a weave and leave us perplexed as to the outcome to be found… Some of the children play with all their skill with elastic bands and their hands. It’s a child’s play, to the point of making us lose our footing or hand, we should say, and showing us how simple things can build so many multiple forms. Nothing is already something.

But it’s also the story of a hand that wants to escape and fly away, to discover the universe and the thousands of worlds we don’t know about.

You’ll never look at your children’s yarns and games with rubber bands in the same way again. Fascination awaits.
