Based on Hoffmann’s fantasy tale and Tchaikovsky’s ballet. Christmas Eve is never quite like any other evening. A little girl and a toy, a princess and a prince in a dream…

Based on Hoffmann’s tale and set to music by Tchaikovsky

On Christmas Eve, the Grossermeyer family are busily preparing for this wonderful celebration. A little girl, Clara, is too curious and goes to look at the beautiful Christmas tree and all the presents. One of the presents moves. How is that possible? A toy emerges from the wrapping paper and turns into a young prince. The Nutcracker Prince invites Clara to dream together and travel around the world.
Clara falls asleep beside her toy and, thanks to a magic ring, takes flight in this dream that travels through the kingdom of the Snow Fairy, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and also a faraway land imagined by a child.
The ballet gives way to a child’s dream. The music accompanies the puppets’ play and dance, creating a Christmas fairy tale.
Recommended for children aged 3 and over
