African tales and puppets. A journey to the heart of the Congo: a tale to listen to, to watch, a story to share. In my mother’s village, there was a little girl called Esengo. She came there on a rainy day. The villagers entrusted her to Mama Mambweni. From 4-5 years.

In my mother’s village, there was a little girl called Esengo. She came there on a rainy day. The villagers entrusted her to Mama Mambweni. Will Esengo have the happy life predicted by her name?

What pitfalls will she have to overcome? What dangers will she have to face? Will Nkoy the lioness and Ngando the crocodile be sympathetic to her story?

The crowing of the rooster and the rays of the sun add colour to this family show, which combines the wisdom of this African tale with the gaiety of puppetry.

Belgian premiere. For ages 4-5 upwards. With the support of the Rayonnement de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Image de Bruxelles, the Loterie Nationale and Ixelles District.
