Landscape, Image, Palestine: Recounting as an act of Refusal

Reem Shilleh will show fragments of films and research elements, followed by a conversation with Inas Halabi about the role of the landscape within the image, in the context of Palestine.

Taking Inas Halabi’s exhibition All That Remainsكي لا ننسى (Kay La Nansa) at La Loge as a starting point, this conversation unfolds across five thematic fragments, exploring the role of landscape and image in the context of Palestine. Reem Shilleh presents fragments of films and archival material that reveal how histories of land and displacement are mediated through moving image. In response, Inas Halabi reflects on her artistic practice and research, and on the role of landscape, where recounting becomes not only an act of remembrance but also an act of refusal. Together, they invite the audience to consider the landscape not as mere background, but as witness, a living archive that carries the histories of both place and people.
