And that is precisely what soprano Sarah Defrise, voted Young Musician of the Year by the Belgian Music Press in 2021, intends to do. In her one-woman show, she lifts the veil on the little-known world of contemporary music with a caustic sense of humour. A wacky world that she approaches on the basis of her own experience and a selection of works performed a cappella. Between phonemes, onomatopoeia, references to American comics, minimalist music, cyclical music and even a few orgasmic outbursts, this is the ideal playing field for the singer’s vocal and acting talents.
