Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker explores Philip Glass’s minimalist debuts through four early pieces – Music in Contrary Motion, Music in Fifths, Music in Similar Motion and Music with Changing Parts – composed between 1969 and 1970, after he had met Ravi Shankar.
With GLA55, De Keersmaeker pushes to its extreme a radical language based on repetition, trance and choreographic material reduced to its essentials. Circles, spirals and movement structure the performance. Six dancers from Rosas and the Bl!ndman and Ictus ensembles combine their talents in this immersive musical experience.
