Cult, timeless rock’n’roll — power pop and proto-punk legends, still as electric as ever

Soon it will be the 60th anniversary of the FLAMIN’ GROOVIES!!

Formed in San Francisco in 1966, the band has carved out a singular path in rock history, never bowing to trends while blending garage rock, power pop, punk and classic rock into a timeless, infectious sound. Often described as legends of the Fillmore era, their catalog includes cult classics like Slow Death, Teenage Head and Shake Some Action, reflecting both their raw rock n’ roll roots and their later, more melodic power pop influences.

After decades of evolution, lineup changes and a two-decade hiatus, the Groovies returned in 2013 and have since toured extensively across the USA, Europe and Japan. Led by founding member Cyril Jordan — alongside Tony Sales, Atom Ellis, Sean Fitzsimmons and Miki Rogulj — the current lineup brings together longtime experience and fresh energy, and is considered by Jordan himself as the strongest in the band’s history.

On stage, they revisit the full breadth of their career, from early rockabilly and Stones- or Yardbirds-inspired sounds to their iconic late-70s power pop era on Sire Records. Revered by those in the know and constantly rediscovered by new generations, Flamin’ Groovies remain one of the most influential and enduring cult bands in rock n’ roll history.
