About the visit
Through their designer’s lens, Antwerp-based studio ecoBirdy will share their committed approach to design and children’s furniture through a curated selection of pieces featured in the exhibition. They will explore how furniture for children has evolved over time, shaped by cultural shifts, aesthetic movements, and material innovation. ecoBirdy will also offer a behind-the-scenes look at their own creative process, including the development of the Charlie Chair and the Luisa Table presented in the exhibition, highlighting the inspirations and ideas that drive their work.
This encounter invites audiences to reconsider the role of children’s design in an increasingly digital world, one where objects continue to play a vital role in learning, imagination, and everyday experience.
About ecoBirdy
ecoBirdy is a Belgian design studio dedicated to creating sustainable, ergonomic furniture. Founded in 2018 by Joris Vanbriel and Vanessa Yuan, the studio developed ecothylene®, an innovative material made entirely from recycled toys. Driven by a vision of circular design for children’s furniture, every stage of their process, from recycling and production to design, is carried out entirely in Europe. In 2018, they introduced the now-iconic Charlie Chair and Luisa Table, award-winning pieces that later entered the collections of several museums worldwide. Since then, ecoBirdy has continued to expand its collection with new designs, all rooted in the belief that recycled materials can meet a wide range of everyday needs without compromising on aesthetics or functionality.
