An experienced guide from the Cauchie House will take you on a tour of the façades decorated with sgraffito. The Ateliers Paul Cauchie specialised in this technique and decorated some twenty houses in Mechelen. Some have disappeared or been damaged during World War I; others have been preserved, sometimes in poor condition, sometimes restored. Who were the Mechelen architects with whom de Ateliers Paul Cauchie collaborated and where can you still find these colourful decorations? You will find out during the guided tour “Extramuros, sgraffiti in Mechelen”.
