Letterlab: Calligraphy & Typography as Art

  • Courses and workshops
  • Accessibility

Dive into the world of letters, calligraphy, and typography. In this creative workshop, graphic designer Astrid Fieuws will introduce you to the traditional crafts of printing, reimagined in a fresh and contemporary way.

Be inspired by the beautiful manuscripts from the KBR museum and learn to cut, assemble, and recombine letters to create your own typographic poster. Together, we will experiment with shapes, composition, and fonts. You will go home with a unique piece that reflects your personal touch.

No prior knowledge is required — just curiosity and a desire to create!

About the workshop leader
Astrid Fieuws is a graphic designer and the (grand)daughter of a family of printers. She grew up surrounded by paper and ink — an environment that has profoundly shaped her lasting love for typography, printmaking and the book arts. In her work today, she brings together old and new techniques to create contemporary paper goods, with a strong focus on materiality, tactility and craftsmanship.
