Köln 75 - Ido Fluk

  • Others
film screening for secondary and higher education

Keith Jarrett’s solo concert on January 24, 1975, at the Cologne Opera House is one of the most legendary performances in contemporary jazz. This improvised concert became one of the most successful solo albums of all time, selling 3.5 million copies.

Half a century later, two pianists from different backgrounds are drawing inspiration from the best-selling solo album in jazz history. Frenchman Thomas Enhco and Japanese pianist Maki Namekawa visited Jarrett and obtained his permission to play The Köln Concert in its entirety. On April 15, 2026, they will perform this concert at the Henry Leboeuf Hall in Bozar.

There is a special offer for secondary and higher education groups. Prior to the concert, we will show the film Köln 75 about the difficult realization of the concert, which was organized by the very young concert promoter Vera Brandes. This will be followed by a substantive introduction by Klaas Coulembier, concluding with a visit to the concert in the main hall.
