Discover the personal house and studio of the architect Victor Horta, the father of Belgian Art Nouveau!

Built by the architect between 1898 and 1901 at numbers 23 and 25 of the Rue Américaine in Saint-Gilles, the two buildings are characteristic of Art Nouveau at its peak. Plant curves and light spring up in every corner of the house and form a total work of art. The interior decoration has largely been retained, the mosaics, stained glass, and wall decorations forming a harmonious and elegant whole, down to the last detail. The Horta Museum also organises temporary exhibitions and preserves the architect’s archives as well as a reference library on Art Nouveau.
