Located in the heart of Brussels, the BELvue is more than a museum about Belgium and its history – it is also a centre for democracy, and a place to experience history and democracy.

Our permanent exhibition gives you a better insight into Belgium and our society. In our temporary exhibitions, too, we always make a link with our country’s history, heritage or current events. The more than 200 objects in our gallery bring the Belgium of yesterday and today to life. As a centre for democracy, the BELvue aims to develop historical awareness and citizenship competences. Within our educational service, seconded teachers and education specialists develop activities around themes such as democracy, citizenship, history and justice. The BELvue aims to be there for everyone: schools, (future) teachers, youth associations, families, older people, people with disabilities, you name it. That is why our activities are free of charge or offered at a very affordable price.
