This will be Autoworld’s summer exhibition! Some twenty models of the Porsche 356 as from its conception will sketch the history of the renowned and iconic sportscar, which this year will be blowing out its 70 candles.Created in 1950 in Gmünd (Austria) by Ferry Porsche, Professor Ferdinand Porsche’s second son, the 356 is the first car to bear the name Porsche, a make that was to become mythical. This small lightweight sportscar, with its 1100 cm³ Boxer flat 4-cylinder air cooled engine, was to enjoy a swift evolution, notably thanks to the numerous sporting successes on the major circuits, and particularly on the American market. At Autoworld the public will have the opportunity to admire the numerous versions of the 356, of which the different models such as Pré-A, A, B, C (under their denomination of Speedster, Cabrio and Coupé) but also the Denzel, the Zagato, the Hardtop Karmann, the D’Ieteren Roadster, the Carrera GT, the Carrera Abarth, not forgetting the Polizei.
