From 26 to 30 May 2026, the Maison Luxembourgeoise des Instruments d’Exception will present the ​“Living Exhibition of Exceptional Cellos” at the MIM Brussels. Discover a rare selection of historical cellos from private collections, which will not only be on display but also played live. Van 26 tot en met 30 mei 2026 organiseert de Maison Luxembourgeoise des Instruments d’Exception in het Muziekinstrumentenmuseum (MIM) in Brussel de ​“Living Exhibition of Exceptional Cellos”. Deze uitzonderlijke tentoonstelling presenteert een unieke selectie historische cello’s uit één private collectie van uitzonderlijke omvang en kwaliteit — een zeldzame gebeurtenis in Europa.

In tegenstelling tot een klassieke museumtentoonstelling worden de instrumenten niet alleen tentoongesteld, maar ook live bespeeld tijdens demonstraties en speelsessies door musici. Bezoekers krijgen zo de unieke kans om deze meesterinstrumenten niet enkel van dichtbij te bewonderen, maar ook werkelijk te horen klinken.

De tentoonstelling vindt plaats tijdens de finaleweek van de Koningin Elisabethwedstrijd en vormt een bijzondere ontmoeting tussen muzikaal erfgoed, vakmanschap en levende muzikale beleving.
