René Magritte Museum (Jette)

The Museum exhibits notably a series original aquarelles, gouaches and drawings, as well as graphic works by Magritte.

The Museum is located in the house where Magritte and his wife Georgette lived for 24 years between 1930 and 1954. The couple rented the ground floor, which has been recreated with original furniture. Magritte produced there almost the half of his work. The place also hosted the weekly meetings of the surrealist group. On the upper levels, a biographical tour traces Magritte’s life and career through photos, letters, personal documents and objects. Each year, a temporary exhibition is dedicated to surrealism or abstract art in Belgium.
