LIBRARIUM (Royal Library of Belgium)

LIBRARIUM is a space devoted to the history of books, writings and libraries.

LIBRARIUM also raises the question of the place of libraries in the context of current developments in the world of books, and looks to their future in a modernised form that is capable of constant renewal.

This new museum transcends borders and is not restricted only to the history of the book in Belgium. It looks at the different writing cultures in Africa, Asia, Europe etc. Its original method of presentation allows one to view exhibits chronologically or thematically.

For conservation reasons, and in order to exhibit a maximum number of documents, books will be replaced every 3 months, enabling one to experience the museum from a different perspective on each visit.
